The world today is a very dark place, and there is no leadership capable of fixing it—other than the hand of God and the return of His Son: Jesus Christ. Yet, this world and its creatures were still created by God and if we open our eyes we see His hand everywhere if we are paying attention. We must be vigilant and watch for the signs, but we can also appreciate the majesty of God’s hand in our lives each day. This Sermonette will discuss several scriptures that can make this clear in the ways that mankind cannot. Together we can find the hope we need to remain strong and do what we must.

Taking God to Work
As this world continues its spiral, members of God’s church must remember that a relationship with God and with Jesus Christ must not end with the Sabbath. In order to be sure we are following His Commandments, we must rely on Him as we face challenges in our work life as well. In this Sermonette we will explore scriptures that help us to honor Him and reflect our faith in our work and all that we do.
FOT: Gabriel’s Messages of Hope
This Sermonette will cover scriptures that convey not only the messages that the Angel Gabriel was charged by God to carry to specific people, and by extension—the human population of the earth, but the vital information that he brought. We do not often think or focus on the work that God created angels to conduct. They are however very important in God’s Plan.
You Must be Very Proud!
In this Sermonette we will explore together what the Bible tells us in terms of a correct, Godly way to find satisfaction in serving and doing our best—without becoming proud, haughty and superior, which can ultimately cause us to succumb to evil influences and sinfulness.
Contrasting Cities
In this sermonette, we will consider what God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, have in store with the blessed city of life: the New Jerusalem. This is in contrast to what man is capable of, when reviewing, for example, CHAZ and later CHOP in Seattle. In the best case, humans can strive to do good—but only the Father and His Son are able to deliver the city of love and light that we crave.
Leaving So Soon?
We know that in the end times, many will fall away from their faith, and people will hate and betray one another. If any of us needed affirmation of this, COVID-19 has provided a simple introduction to the emptiness of relying solely on mankind to bring us through a crisis. We have witnessed many so quickly buying into mass hysteria, and seeking authority to turn one-another in for not complying with a political solution. God imbued in us the ability to choose and discern what is good and that which is not Godly. This Sermonette will offer the scriptural support that we need during this time, and in the trials to come. We can choose to turn to God with confidence and obedience, rather than path that leads to something far more terminal than any virus.
God’s Design Plan
We are clear that none of us have seen the face of God the Father in this earthly existence. While only a very few were blessed to have walked with Jesus Christ during His time on earth, He was clear in His messages to mankind that those who believe, without having seen, are truly blessed. The bible is rich with the information that we can rely on to grow in our faith and understanding. In addition, all that God has created—each one of us, and the world around us also has God’s signature design. In this Sermonette we will explore the scriptures that bring this to light, and help us to see just how God created mankind to reflect His and His Son’s image, and His never-ending promise to those who believe and obey His commands.
The Keystone of the Kingdom
Over the centuries societies have taken great pride in the structures that their ancestors built and that they themselves build today. In some places construction includes buildings and large developments that cannot sustain themselves without elaborate and costly water, sewer and other necessary infrastructure that will soon be obsolete. There are also groups that seemingly dedicate their construction—the stones, bricks and mortar with rituals and rites that can strike anyone as odd. This is true of even large public projects right here in my home state of Colorado. Rather than focusing on finding ways to serve and honor God the Father, mankind has discovered more ways to establish and honor their own legacies. The community that we as believers await and work towards is of course the coming Kingdom of God—The New Jerusalem, and the Keystone for the Kingdom is of course Jesus Christ. In this Sermonette we will explore scriptures that offer the clarity and the bedrock that our future will be built upon.
Meeting Isaiah
For a person who has been called by God, the pathway to deeper learning and understanding can still be daunting. As our commitment to God and obedience to His commandments grows stronger, we can pray for help and understanding. This can come to us in the form of the Holy Spirit following our baptism. However, in order to grow in faith to get to this point we must rely on the bible—the complete Word of God. With God’s blessing, the Book of Isaiah offers a bridge between the Old and the New Testaments, enabling us to read and understand scriptures that in the past may have seemed locked and confusing to us. Together we will consider several scriptures that help us make this connection and better understand that the Bible is truly our road map to salvation.
FOT: Cairns Along the Way
Anyone who has ever hiked a mountain, or coastal trail has likely come upon formal or informal markers or designations such as those carefully-arranged rock stacks (cairns–to use the Scottish word) that help to guide us. Some of these markers can actually help us avoid danger if not death! Over the history of God’s people, He has provided our ancestors with the cairns necessary to reach the promised land. He even provided the pathways that the Ark of the Covenant would travel to be protected from the enemy. In this Sermonette we will explore the biblical context of this very real–life tool or construct, and its meaning in our spiritual life.
