The Heresy of Cain and Independence Day

One author wrote that when God approached Cain and asked him, Where is your brother Abel?, Cain committed a heresy, when he answered, I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper? The author continued that to many Americans, Independence Day is a day to celebrate their liberation from having to be our fellow’s keeper, our independence from others. He said that the Cain Heresy is alive and well in our culture, threatening to totally devour the freedom it claims to defend. What about it? Does the Bible say that we are to be our brother’s keeper? Two Ways of Living

We are celebrating the Feast of Tabernacles 2006. We are experiencing a foretaste of how the world will be like in a few years from now–a world of peace and truth and love. If we make it into God’s kingdom, we will be teaching God’s Way of Life to the world. We will be educating misguided people about how to live. In the Beginning – Part 3

When God created a physical garden for man–the Garden of
Eden or Paradise–, He made special trees and placed them in the midst of the
garden. These trees had special symbolic meaning. They were called the Tree of
Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. While God allowed man to
eat freely from the Tree of Life, He commanded man not to eat from the Tree of
the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Man disobeyed God, and disaster was the
consequence. What is the symbolic meaning of these two trees, and how do they
affect us today?
