Why SEVEN Days for Overcoming Sin?
We must fight against and overcome sin, and the SEVEN Days of Unleavened Bread remind us of Israel’s exodus from Egypt and the consistent refusal of Pharaoh to let Israel go. These events have deep symbolic meaning for us today and show how Satan, the ruler over sin and the powers of this world, has already lost his war with us.
The Devil Is Loose
Satan’s wrath is great, as he knows that he has only a short time. But he is still the god of this evil world, the prince of darkness, who walks about like a roaring lion, seeking his victims in order to destroy them. He is a murderer, a liar, a deceiver, a fraud, an accuser and a tempter, and so are his servants and ministers who are acting on his behalf, even though many may think that they serve the true God. Those who were able to free themselves from Satan’s clutches through the understanding of the Truth and become again his victims are walking towards their spiritual and perhaps even physical death. This sermon will show from the Bible how Satan has inflicted misery and pain on so many people, but it also emphasizes that with God’s help, we will conquer the Devil.
Lot in Sodom
Jesus warned us that the time of His Second Coming could be compared with the days of Lot and the conditions in Sodom. Was Lot a righteous man? Why did he live in Sodom? Why was Sodom destroyed? Was it only because of homosexual conduct? Are there archeological proofs outside the Bible showing us that Sodom was indeed destroyed? Why did Lot’s daughters commit incest with their father? Pentecost 2016–God’s Feast of the Firstfruits
Why do we celebrate Pentecost this year on June 12? What is the meaning of “Pentecost”? Why is it also called “Feast of Weeks” and “Feast of Firstfruits”? In light of Leviticus 23, when did the priest wave the sheaf of the firstfruits, and when did he wave the two loaves of leavened bread, which were also called firstfruits? What was the symbolic meaning of the sheaf and the two breads? Is Jesus the first who was resurrected from death to eternal life? Are there only few people today who are being called into the truth? Are they called firstfruits? Do they have to be predestined by God to be called in this day and age? In light of God’s Spirit of power, is there a guarantee that called Christians will inherit salvation?
Is the Earth a Flat Disc?
Is the earth really a globe, or spherical, as science tells us, or is it perhaps a flat disc, which rests on pillars, as some teach who claim that they base their conclusions on the Bible? How are we to understand Scriptures which tell us that the sun stood still or that it runs its race? Doesn’t this show that the sun revolves or orbits around the earth, rather than the earth revolving around the sun? And doesn’t the Bible say that the earth does not move or rotate? But how can there by day and night at the same time, when from sunrise to sunset, the sun shines during the entire time on the “flat earth”? What happens to the waters of the oceans, if the earth is a disc?
Comfort and Encouragement
When we suffer, we must always remember that God does not forget our tears. Even when we are severely tested, God is there to help us. God wants to give us comfort and encouragement, as well as peace and tranquility; He has compassion for those who mourn and who are brokenhearted. The book of Ruth gives us an important understanding as to how the merciful God works in our lives.
