Does the Bible tell us whether wise King Solomon did receive the Holy Spirit, and if so, whether he lost it again because of his sins? Many Scriptures give us answers and serve as admonition and warning.
Saul
Longsuffering for Righteousness Sake
Why do we suffer? Is it necessary for our eternal salvation? God has long-suffering for us just as we do for Him as we eagerly wait for Christ’s return. How do we live a life pleasing God and what does He promise us in return?
Rumors and Conspiracies
Many believe in wild rumors and weird conspiracy theories. And even some in God’s Church can become easy targets, if they are not careful. We are called upon to come out of the Babylonian confusion of political propaganda and war hysteria, while rejecting unprovable concepts and speculations. Would we be guilty of lying if we were to propagate something which turns out to be false? Do we understand that many popular conspiracy theories were invented by Satan and his demons?
The Sufferings of the Apostle Paul
Paul had to endure much hardship, but he never gave up. This sermon discusses many of his trials, including his unjust arrests and illegal imprisonments; several attempts to murder him; numerous false accusations against him by Jews and Greeks; and many conspiracies by unbelieving Jews with the declared goal of assassinating him. But Paul knew that his trials served a godly purpose. And we will see how he received strength to endure victoriously, becoming worthy for the Kingdom of God.
How Long Has God Been Working with You?
How does God work in your life, and when did He begin to do so? Was it when He called you and when you began to understand more and more of the truth? Or did God know you long before your calling, and did He influence some of your decisions prior to your calling, in order to fulfill His plan for you? And if so, what consequences might this have for you today?
Do Good to Those Who Hate You
Are Christ’s injunctions in the Sermon on the Mount to be applied literally? Are these practical commandments, showing us how we are to live? Are we really to do good to our enemies and to help them, when they are in need? Should we really refuse to fight in war against them and to kill them? Are there any practical biblical examples which explain Christ’s Words more fully? Didn’t Christ Himself resort to violence, and didn’t He bring a sword?
Examination and Self-Deception
We are admonished to examine ourselves to make sure that we are in the faith and walk worthy of the gospel of the Kingdom of God. But are we the victims of self-deception, thinking we are doing fine, while we are not?
Treasure Your Crown!
Jesus warned: “Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.” How is this to be understood? Is He saying that if we fail, someone else will take our place?
When Change Comes
The Bible records episodes of dramatic change for both individuals and for nations. We are taught in God’s Word what to do when change comes–about times of transition. We face changes in our lives and within the Church of God, and we need to understand how to handle them according to God’s will.
