Talks on Iran’s nuclear program have been extended for seven months, giving Iran more time to develop a nuclear bomb. While Iran celebrates the extension as a victory and scoffs at Presiding Obama’s weakness, Israel is seriously considering a preemptive military strike against Iran. At the same time, Iran needs the support of the West against ISIS-not the other way around. The Helmet of Salvation
Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:17 to “take the helmet of salvation.” What else are we to “take” from God, and what is the connection with the helmet of salvation? Why are we reading about the cup of salvation; the shield of salvation; and the garments of salvation? The Bible speaks also about the helmet of the hope of salvation. What exactly is this hope? What exactly is salvation? And what is the only way to obtain salvation?
America at War
It was predictable. First air strikes in Iraq; then arming Syrian rebels; now air strikes in Syria. We have entered another war, which will be disastrous for America. Those who warn against this development, such as Senator Rand Paul, are ridiculed or ignored. Promises by the Obama Administration are being broken, “convictions” are changing, an indifferent and vacationing Congress does not seem to care; and most Americans support the actions of the government, even though they feel they won’t do any good. Ephesians 6:15 tells us that we must have our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. What exactly does this mean? What about our feet; our preparation or readiness; and the gospel of peace? What is that gospel? Paul warns us not to accept a different gospel, another Jesus, or a different spirit. He also shows us that the belief in the true gospel is absolutely necessary for salvation; and that we ourselves must have peace if we want to stand up for the gospel of peace.
No Way! There Will Be No Seven-Year Treaty!
Some teach that a seven year treaty will be adopted between a modern king of the North or the beast and a modern king of the South, consisting of Arab nations, just prior to the return of Christ, and that that treaty will be broken after 3 ½ years. Others teach that that treaty is going to be made between the king of the North and the Jews. They base this teaching on Daniel 9:27. However, this passage does NOT teach such a treaty, but something different altogether. It is VERY important that you understand the truth, because a wrong teaching might find you completely unprepared for the return of Jesus Christ.
