Recent events have thrown Britain into “the deepest political crisis in half a century.” Europeans are now convinced that the inevitable Brexit will prove to be the “greatest disaster” for the UK, and they have concluded that it is time for the EU to let Britain go, as the “proud United Kingdom” has reached its end. While many commentators feel now that Angela Merkel could remain Chancellor until 2021, this is rather doubtful. Who will succeed Merkel?
