The book of Ecclesiastes has many layers. It describes the lives of people under the sun who are cut off from God. To that extent, life is vain and a grasping for the wind. In addition, when Solomon addresses the reader DIRECTLY, he is not talking about people who have turned away from God and who refuse to submit to God. It is important to see the distinction.

To Judge or Not to Judge?
We are told in God’s Word that we are not to judge others. What does this mean, as we are also told to render righteous judgment? How can we solve this apparent conflict, and how do passages like these apply to jury duty?
Did Solomon have God’s Holy Spirit?
Does the Bible tell us whether wise King Solomon did receive the Holy Spirit, and if so, whether he lost it again because of his sins? Many Scriptures give us answers and serve as admonition and warning.
Facing Death
The Bible has many examples of those who went above and beyond in faith and courage, when all seemed hopeless, but that didn’t stop Daniel and his 3 companions, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, to stand up for what was right and put their complete trust in God, who saved them from death.
Precious Knowledge
How are we supposed to use the precious knowledge that God has given to us? And how are we not supposed to use it?
Pentecost: God Will Provide
Do we believe that God will provide in ALL things? What do we ask for? What kind of blessings can we expect to receive if we live righteously? How do we put God to the test if we want to receive blessings?
Fight Our Fears
There are many different types of fear that people all over the world suffer from. Do we have a fear and is there anything that we fear in particular? Do we fear God and how do we fear Him? There are examples in the Bible of those who had fear but how were they able to overcome it?
The Mystery of the Holy Spirit
Who gives us the Holy Spirit? In what way is the Holy Spirit “one”? Who resides in true Christians? Is the Holy Spirit a person? The Bible uses many times figurative language when referring to the Holy Spirit. Still, why are descriptions used which seem to imply person-hood and conscious activities of the Holy Spirit? Are we unduly restricting and misunderstanding some of those passages?
No Escape From Death
We do not know when we will die, but we do know that we will die. Death is inescapable, and so we need to be prepared. How will we die? Will our day of death be better than our day of birth? Will we die the death of a righteous? Will we be blessed in death? Will death have lost its sting for us? Will the crown of life await us?
How Wise Are You—Really?
Are we wise in God’s eyes, or do we possess the wisdom of this world, which God describes as foolishness? What is true wisdom, and how does it manifest itself? How can we obtain godly wisdom? The Bible speaks of knowledge, understanding and wisdom. What is the difference? Why is it necessary that we have all three qualities, even though they do not guarantee that we will not fall away from God? What else is there to consider?
