Building a sandcastle can be wonderfully peaceful and relaxing, but it can also be frustrating if your aim is designing a structure that is enduring and beautiful. The perfect sandcastle can never be achieved, and similarly, God’s true church is entirely dependent on the structure that He has created. In this Sermonette we will cover scriptures that can aid in our understanding of the importance of clinging to God’s commandments and interweaving this with our relationships with one another as members of His Church. This is essential in order for the Church to thrive and the work to be done.

Our identity forms the foundation upon which we build our character, experience our life, and guide our behavior. Most of the time, we will instinctively make judgments to be consistent with our identity. Our moral and spiritual compass points in the direction that leads us to become who we choose to be. By firmly establishing our identity as Christians, we have Jesus Christ as our guide, to learn righteousness and lead us to become glorified members of God’s family.

The term death grip refers to having a really tight hold on something and not letting go. Spiritually speaking, what is it that we need to hold on to firmly making sure that we don’t lose it?

Why are certain animals at times very cruel? Why do ferocious predators exist?  Did God create them that way? Why are we plagued today with mosquitoes, poisonous snakes or even killer bees? What do we learn from the Bible about God’s dealing with animals in this present day and age? How does God communicate with animals today? What role will animals play in the end time and beyond?

Joy is a part of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. But how can we be joyful in a time of great distress. The examples in the Bible show that people like Christ, Paul and David experienced joy, not because of their present circumstances but because they looked toward the Kingdom of God, when everything will be changed.

The world is heading towards total destruction and annihilation due to sin and unrighteousness. The effects of sin and not dealing with it are shown in this sermon.

The Feast of Pentecost stands out as having a focus on firstfruits. When established in the time of Moses, the firstfruits were from the grain harvest. Following the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the relevance of firstfruits shifts to the elect in Christ. We review the references to firstfruits in the Bible, and delve into the question of why firstfruits are important in the plan of God.

Going above and beyond what is expected or making a bigger effort than what is required certainly has application for Christians! Are we profitable servants in this regard? Do we serve God in extra ways?

God tells us to consider many things in the Bible that are advantageous for us to think carefully about. This message looks at the firefly and is a physical example that can help us to see the bigger picture.

What is the connection between the gift of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the Ten Commandments? What roles do the spiritually circumcised heart and the crucifixion of the old man and the creation of the new man play in all of this? Who or what is the new man, and what is the function of God’s Holy Spirit of power in the re-creation of converted Christians? And how can we be sure that we will be in God’s Kingdom?
